Welcome to our shooting range! We offer safe rifle & shotgun shooting, firearms training, and competition for every level of shooter. We’re tucked in the mountains on the Cardrona Valley Road between Queenstown & Wanaka. Since we also operate a regional hunting outfitter – range time is by pre-scheduled appointment only but is available most days. Thanks very much for visiting Real Guns New Zealand!
About Our Cardrona Gun Range
Real Guns New Zealand is a certified rifle & shotgun range catering to novice & experienced shooters, subscribed members, and tourists for safe and supervised rifle and shotgun shooting. We also host competitions, regular firearms training, and open community days. Our range is an easy drive from Queenstown or Wanaka.
Casual Range Access
$50 - 2 hours
Casual access to shooting range – price is per person per hour for sighting in rifles and firearms practice – This is for licensed firearms owners and directly supervised shooters.
Friday 12pm – 4pm
Saturday 10am – 4pm
Sunday Closed
Long distance range (over 400m) only open on the first and last weekend of each month during hours listed above

Supervised Shooting
Guest & Tourist Gun Use - $169 - 2 hours+
Supervised firearm shooting with qualified instructors on various types of firearms. This option is designed for the visiting shooter or the shooting enthusiast that wants to experience multiple firearms in our supervised and safe shooting range.
Clay bird, small-bore, and large calibre weapons are available for demonstration and supervised use. Fantastic photo opportunities and entertainment for the whole family! If you’re looking for unique things to do in Queenstown or Wanaka – join us!
We are open 7 days a week from 10am
Check in time is 15 minutes before your booked time begins – Please don’t be late!!
