The weapons were very well maintained and the focus on safety was foremost. I had a blast at this gun range, trying the guns ranging from the AK to the .308 and the .500 BMG. Definitely have your sights set on this one, this got me fired up. They taught me everything carefully, made the experience so much fun. There are also so many different types of firearms to try. The Basic’s

Our Supervised Shooting Experience is the perfect way to step into the world of real firearms, starting small and working your way up to the legendary .50 BMG.

Precision Training: You’ll begin with 20 rounds of .22 rifle shooting, using a scoped rifle to lock in your accuracy and prove you can engage targets with precision.
Recoil Introduction: Next, it’s time to feel the power. You’ll fire 10 rounds of shotgun at clay targets, learning to handle recoil and track moving targets.

Whether you’re a first-time shooter or an experienced marksman, this is an adrenaline-packed experience you won’t forget. Are you ready to take the shot?

The Big Caliber Challenge

Once you’ve demonstrated you can handle a scope and manage recoil, you’ll have the opportunity to shoot a variety of powerful firearms (Available at Additional Cost):, including:

223 Remington – A fast, accurate round commonly used in modern sporting rifles.
.308 Winchester – A hard-hitting, battle-proven round with excellent range and stopping power.
.44 Magnum – A powerful handgun round, it has strong, punchy recoil, comparable to a 12ga shotgun.
7.62×54mmR Mosin-Nagant – A historic Russian rifle cartridge, known for its rugged power and long-range capability.
.303 British (Lee-Enfield) – The classic service rifle of the British Empire, packed with history and firepower.
.338 Lapua Magnum – A high-powered sniper round used by military marksmen for extreme-range precision.
.50 BMG – One of the most powerful rifles in the world, delivering unparalleled force at long distances.

Semi-Automatic Firepower

If you want to experience the thrill of rapid-fire action, we also offer a selection of iconic semi-automatic firearms, including:

KRISS Vector – A futuristic, high-tech submachine gun with a unique recoil system.
AR-15 – The classic modern sporting rifle, known for its accuracy and versatility.
AK-47 – The legendary battle rifle, famous for its reliability and raw power.
FN SCAR – A modern modular battle rifle used by special forces, known for its precision, lightweight design, and adaptability in the field.
Golden Boy– Lever-action rifle is manufactured by US company Henry firearms

What to bring.

You MUST bring your identification document with you (NZ driver’s license, or International Passport – *Please Note: AUSTRALIAN DRIVER’S LICENSE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED)

NOTE: If you paid by Credit Card you MUST bring it with you, to confirm your booking.

What to wear.

Please wear comfortable clothing that is weather appropriate. Wear flat, closed-toe shoes. No singlets, thongs (flip-flops), or camouflage clothing can be worn. If you wear corrective lenses for distance – use them on the range. We recommend you bring a hat and sunglasses. Jackets with big collars are discouraged as they make holding firearms difficult.

Ammunition included per person: 20 rounds of semi-auto Ruger .22 and 10 rounds of Shotgun.
Beyond our basic range package, visitors can purchase additional ammunition & choose from more than 20 different firearms: AK/M4/AR-15/SCAR(semi-automatic. 22), pump-action & semi-automatic shotgun(12g), and rifles(.223,.44Mag, .308, 7.62x54R,.338 Lapua). The largest caliber we offer is .50BMG.

Are you coming from Queenstown?

Plan Ahead — Don’t Miss Your Shot!
Check-in is 15 minutes before your booked session begins — so please don’t be late!
We recommend leaving Queenstown at least 1.5 hours early to allow for traffic, roadworks, photo stops, and the usual road trip distractions. Better early than rushing the reload!

Detailed Directions

Once you enter the property PLEASE GO SLOW! Maximum 30km.
01. Drive straight until you get to the bridge.
02. Turn Left onto the bridge and cross over the bridge.
03. Turn right after the bridge by following the REALGUNS sign.
04. You will pass through two more gates.
(if the gates are closed, close them behind you)
05. After the second gate follow the road around to the right.
06. Keep following this road slowly until you get to the range parking.

Range Shuttle Service

Your Scenic Ride to Real Guns — No Car, No Problem

Queenstown Shuttle & Scenic Tour

Don’t have your own transport? No problem! Join our Queenstown to Real Guns Shuttle & Sightseeing Tour – a perfect half-day adventure for shooters and non-shooters alike.

Pickup: 12:30 PM from Bus Stop, 12 Athol Street, Queenstown

Stops along the way:

Lake Hayes – quick scenic photo break
Crown Range lookout – epic mountain views
Historic Cardrona Hotel – a must-see landmark

Arrival at the Range: 2:00 PM
You’ll arrive just in time to join the Real Guns 2:00 PM shooting session (booked separately). If you’re coming to shoot, you must book the 2:00 PM experience as well – the shuttle booking alone does not include shooting.

After the range:

Visit the famous Wanaka Tree
Stop at the quirky Bra Fence
Return to Queenstown around 6:30 PM

Shuttle Tour Price: $149 per person

Ideal for both shooting participants and spectators who want to enjoy a scenic afternoon in Wanaka!

Important: If you’re planning to shoot, you must book the 2:00 PM shooting session in addition to this shuttle tour.

Non-shooters are welcome to come along for the ride and sightseeing!
